Jake Lebahn

Jake is passionate about helping you take control of your money — whether you’re just starting your career, growing a business, or thinking ahead to the future. His focus is on keeping advisor fees low and creating long-term financial plans that are realistic, flexible, and built around your goals.

In 2023, Jake earned his Series 7 license and joined OFG Financial Services to support clients through every phase of their financial journey. As a fiduciary, he will always put your best interests first — offering clear advice, personalized strategies, and a straightforward process that makes planning for retirement (and life in general) feel a lot less overwhelming.

He’s also licensed in Life and Health Insurance in Kansas and Missouri, helping you and your family plan ahead for the unexpected while protecting what matters most.

Jake and his wife, Lindsay, have been married since 2018 and have two awesome kids’, Lawson (5) and Brynn (4). In 2003 he moved to Topeka to attend Washburn University to play football, and never left. When he’s not working with clients, you’ll find him hanging with his family, attending his kids sporting events, golfing, or supporting the Ichabods.

Karen Nelson

Karen has been with Higgs Financial Services since 2012. She has handled the lead financial administrative assistant and office duties for both Higgs and Lebahn Financial Services. She provides personalized support designed to keep your finances organized, transparent, and on track. From managing schedules and coordinating meetings to handling sensitive documents and client communications, Karen brings reliability, professionalism, and a calm, solutions-focused approach to every task. You know the friendly and familiar voice of Karen when you give the office a call.

Karen and her husband Gary, have lived in Topeka since 2010. Karen has three children and 7 grandchildren. Karen loves to travel and spend as much time with her grandchildren as possible. She is a member of Fellowship Bible Church and enjoys being involved in the community.

Richard Higgs Jr

Rick started his financial career 40 years ago in 1985 with Northwestern Mutual before moving to OFG Financial Services in 1992 becoming a registered representative and starting Higgs Financial Services. Rick has been series 6 certified his entire career and obtained his Series 7 FINRA License in 2023. Rick has a long history of dedicated service to his many clients from day one. His list of clients includes individuals, charities, small business, corporations and much more.

His goal hasn’t changed since 1985, help clients with their financial decisions all while maintaining low fees and excellent service. Rick has serviced SIMPLE plans, 401K plans, Annuities and much more.

Rick is a proud Jayhawk alum graduating in 1982 from The University of Kansas.

Rick and his wife, Michelle, have been married for 42 years and have called Topeka home their entire life. Rick has two daughters, Holly and Jenni, and two grandsons Alfred and Bernhard. Rick enjoys golf, pickleball, traveling with his wife Michelle, seeing his grandsons and enjoys his time on the lake. He is a member of the Topeka South Rotary and is the President of the Wabaunsee Pines Golf Course.
